BESTV, China’s biggest IPTV provider, said yesterday that it will be a strategic partner with 158 telecommunication, digital entertainment and hardware companies to help it expand globally.
Shanghai-based BesTV, with over 22.5 million users now, will cooperate with firms like Huawei, Lenovo, Hisense, LeEco, Koolearn and Innovation Angel Funds to establish an ecosystem encompassing online video, education, game, health care and e-commerce.
BesTV will develop technology platforms and offer an incubation base with the strategic partners, said Shi Zhiyan, president of BesTV.
In 2016, China’s IPTV user base grew to 90 million from 50 million in the previous year, analysts said.
The company also aims to expand into Southeast Asia, Australia and hotel chains in Europe and the US.
